About the SunGlow Motel and Restaurant

The Sunglow Motel and Family Restaurant, founded in the late 1960's by Cula Ekker is a homey little slice of country-western pleasure.

The current owners , Ronnie and Patty Krause, are happily fulfilling their life-long dream to own and operate a successful tourism-related business. And that is exactly what The SunGlow is : Successful!!

We are nestled in the small and quiet town of Bicknell, Utah [Pop. 340, 7200 feet] - right between Fishlake National Forest, Boulder Mountain and Capitol Reef National Park. These areas are some of Mother Nature's most beautiful creations and you will be inspired by the remote and unpopulated adventures in Capitol Reef Country.

The SunGlow Motel and Restaurant is open all year with 15 clean, comfortable smoking or non-smoking rooms. All of our rooms are recently remodeled & feature cable television, direct dial telephones and climate control.

The SunGlow Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 6 days a week (Closed on Sunday). Come & check out our famous pies and experience what you always wished for in your dining experience. And if you wish to experience more than just our restaurant, make a reservation to stay a night or two in our motel that has been newly renovated for your comfort.

Bicknell History
Bicknell was settled in 1879, and the town was first named Thurber Town, after a local church leader, explorer and Indian interpreter.

The Town's name was changed to Bicknell when the citizens agreed to change its name in exchange for a gift of books for its public library from Thomas W. Bicknell from Rhode Island.

Make your reservation here and let us help you have the best vacation experience ever!

*Note that cell phone coverage is intermittent throughout our beautiful and remote area so please plan accordingly.
